A 27-year-old Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara resident is wanted by the Kitty Police after
she allegedly assaulted a four month old baby, causing her to suffer a fractured skull.
Stacy Warrell, the child’s mother, told Kaieteur News that the incident occurred following a heated argument between her and the perpetrator at a party held at a house where the accused also resides.
“We deh at de party good, good and out of nowhere she said that I mek she childfather find out that she got a next man and she start cussing me and I didn’t tell she anything, so she get vex and wanted to fight. That’s when she snatched me baby from me and pelt she on the floor,” Warrell related.
A CT-Scan conducted on the baby revealed that she has suffered a hairline fracture of her skull, on her right side forehead as a result of the fall.
The distraught mother told Kaieteur News that the child’s doctor had advised that she undergoes surgery in order to mend her damaged skull.
Warrell said she refused to have her daughter undergo a surgery as she believes that, given the child’s tenderness and age, her skull is likely to mend itself.
Eyewitnesses and relatives of the perpetrator said that ever since the incident, the woman has disappeared and her phone has been turned off.
Meanwhile, Warrell is hoping that the woman gets the punishment she deserves.
The matter was reported to the Kitty Police Station and investigations into her whereabouts are ongoing.
