The Georgetown Football Association (GFA) in memory of the late Shawn ‘Fatso’ Bishop has
arranged a benefit game for sometime next week where all the proceeds will go to his mother and daughter.
According to President of the GFA Vernon Burnett, the late footballer’s contribution to the sport will be recognized, while the entity has agreed to assist with the funding of his daughter’s education in the future.
Burnett disclosed that the GFA has already started in that direction and only Tuesday opened an Early Savers Account in the name of his daughter, while they also offered financial assistance to the family to offset his funeral expenses.
The GFA Head is urging all supporters of football and the late Bishop to come out in their thousands to witness the benefit game in his honour where all the proceeds will go to his family. “We are not going to forget one of our more dedicated footballers, who did so much for the game locally and I want to say that we in the GFA will continue to do everything possible to ensure that his legacy lives on, while his daughter is afforded a quality education and life.”
The date for the game which will be discussed with the family and will be announced shortly.
