Dear Editor,
I wish to refer to the case where former president, Bharrat Jagdeo sued Freddie Kissoon. This had to do with East Indians being given by Jagdeo , almost all the major government appointments. The evidence of this is there for all to see.
With this in mind, we can take a look at the four most senior constitutional appointments in Guyana: The President, The Speaker, The Chancellor and the Chairman of Gecom.
President – Donald Ramotar – East Indian
Chancellor of the Judiciary – Carl Singh – East Indian
Chairman of the Elections Commission – Steve Surijbally – East Indian
About the speaker: If Moses Nagamootoo gets the job, it will be four out of four for East Indians. No place for an African.
If Moses is a fair man, as he says he is, he ought to withdraw from the contest and make it easier for the parliamentary opposition to reach a consensus.
