Three weeks after arriving in Port Kaituma, 51-year-old Terrence Morrison was found dead in a hotel room on Tuesday night, and relatives suspect foul play was the cause.
According to Beverly Williams, sister of the dead man, Morrison earned his living a regular ‘bushman’ working on gold dredges.
“Wednesday morning his boss lady called one of his friends and tell he that they find him in one of the hotel rooms dead. Is a hotel at Arakaka but we ain’t know the hotel name,” Williams said.
She explained that the police told her that they could not have the body flown to the city and there was no cooling facility at the Arakaka Mortuary.
And the body is to be buried in the area.
“I feel is foul play or somebody poison he. The family want a post mortem to be done so the police can know what was the cause of death, something is not right….I want the authorities to investigate what is really happening.”
She explained that the police were reluctant to give any information and to bring the body to the city.
“They say if is anything they gon exhume the body. But by then what will they really find when the case get cold?” Williams questioned.
