Universal Sports Services’ CEO Ian Andrew Budhan yesterday presented a pair of track
shoes each to National t20 Skipper Chris Barnwell and National under-19 player Shawn Perreira.
The presentation was made at Bourda by the overseas based Guyanese businessman who also presented Barnwell with a cartoon of Gatorade powder to be used by the Guyana t20 team during their preparations for next month’s Caribbean Cup t20 competition.
Budhan, who holds a degree in Management and who has donated sporting equipment to several local sports persons, said he hoped the gesture would help to inspire the two cricketers to greater things and added that he was thinking of traveling with the team to help motivate them in Antigua.
Budhan is a former West Demerara cricket club administrator and his East Street Georgetown Sports Equipment business will be holding a Christmas party for some less fortunate children tomorrow afternoon before they make a presentation to the Guyana Cancer Society on Friday.
