The New Building Society Limited second division 40 over cricket competition continued recently with some outstanding performances highlighting the latest round.
Leading the way was Khemraj Sumair who slammed 125 for Canefield of East Canje against Goed Bananen Land. His knock, which included 15 fours and 8 sixes, spearheaded his team to a mammoth 328 all out off their allotted 35 overs.
Canefield ended up winning by 200 runs after Goed Bananen Land were sent packing for 128 in reply. Kurt Griffith scored 89 (7×4 3×6) and Andrew Dutchin 60 (5×4) to help Achievers of Lovely Lass reach 283 for 7 in 35 overs against Bush Lot United who were in turn skittle out for 54.
Bath batsmen Pooran Ramjattan stroked 86 (4×4 8×6) and Avinash Sewkarran 57 (2×4 2×6) to guide their team to a solid 247 for 8 in 30 overs against No. 7 Silver Park who were bundled out for 77.
Other batsmen scoring half centuries during the latest round were Nedesh Basdeo of Blairmont Community Centre and Mark Dindial of Rosignol United.
Medium pacer Godfrey Fredericks representing Defenders of New Amsterdam took 5 for 14 from 5 overs to help his team bowl out Seawell for 122 in 30 overs. However Seawell’s opening pacer Petam Dhanraj snared 6 for 31 from 7 overs to bowl out Defenders for 87 in turn. Carl Peters of Overwinning Bible Church also had a five-wicket haul.

At Bush Lot, Achievers hammered Bush Lot United by 229 runs. Achievers 283 for 7 in 35-overs; Kurt Griffith 89, Andrew Dutchin 60, Sherwin McPherson 48, Raun Johnson 35, Bramdat Singh 3 for 65, Javed Saywack 2 for 49. Bush Lot United 54 in 11 overs; Dexter Ross 3 for 5, Dillon Yearwood 3 for 19, Sherwyn McPherson 2 for 1.
At Bath, Bath brushed aside No. 7 Silver Park by 170 runs. Bath 247 for 8 in 30 overs; Pooran Ramjattan 86, Avinash Sewkarran 57, Hardat Jarson 36, Devon Jacobs 2 for 15, Kabir Ramlall 2 for 38. No. 7 Silver Park 77 in 24 overs; Shawn Kadim 2 for 10.
At Seawell, Seawell defeated Defenders by 35 runs. Seawell 122 in 30 overs; Devendra Jainabi 35, Naurang Singh 28, Godfrey Fredericks 5 for 14, Joel Amsterdam 2 for 29. Defenders 87 in 18 overs; Petam Dhanraj 6 for 31, Totaram Deonarine 3 for 32.
At Blairmont, Blairmont Community Centre got past Rosignol United by 3 wickets. Rosignol United 153 in 38.1 overs; Mark Dindial 50, Shabeer Baksh 3 for 16, Wagar Hassan 2 for 17, Devendra Lalsa 2 for 34. Blairmont Community Centre 156 for 7 in 22 overs; Nedesh Basdeo 53, Seon Glasgow 3 for 42, Mark Dindial 3 for 42.
At D’Edward, D’Edward humble No. 3 by 120 runs. D’Edward 188 for 8 in 30 overs; Jaipaul Heeralall 27; Dharamdeo Misir 3 for 43, Brian Roopnarine 3 for 51. No. 3, 68 in 29.3 overs; Javed Balgobin 27, Derick lalsa 3 for 9, Navindra Pamersaud 3 for 29, Christian France 2 for 10.
At Kortheberaadt, Overwinning Bible Church beat Flying Star by 5 wickets. Flying Star 99 in 19.5 overs; Carl Peters 5 for 26, Rocky Hutson 3 for 16, Trevor Salvary 2 for 8. Overwinning Bible Church 100 for 5 in 19.4 overs; Ravi Brijlall 2 for 14, Quincy DeVelde 2 for 21.
At Chesney, Fyrish thumped Chesney by 115 runs. Fyrish 215 for 8 in 35 overs; Sameer Khan 47, Imran Ally 37, Karamchand Shivdyal 30, Aishnarine Shrikissoon 27, Imran Khan 25*. Chesney 110 in 27 overs; Imran Ali 4 for 18, Ashraf Ghannie 3 for 8, Munilall Shivdyal 3 for 10.
