Dear Editor,
Barbados will on Friday launch Duty Free Day, where Barbadians can spend up to Bds$1,000 without paying duty on items.
Perhaps our Minister of Finance, GCCI, PSC and GRA can look into the possibility of introducing the same measure here.
I am sure the benefits would be tremendous to the populace and to the country and would certainly bring some relief to the burdensome VAT we have to bear.
This can be done on a trial period to gauge the advantages and disadvantages to the national coffers.
