A city auto sales stockyard was the target of a channa bomb attack sometime Wednesday
night, but fortunately there was no explosion or damage to property.
Manager of ‘Buy Me Auto Sales and Spares’, Keon Joseph, yesterday said that shards of the unexploded homemade device was found next to one of the cars in the yard. Channa was strewn on the ground next to a Lexus sedan.
Joseph said that the discovery was made by staffers shortly after 08:00 hrs when the facility was opened for business.
There were no signs of immediate damage to property and Joseph stressed that he had no problem with anyone, except for a recent incident in which he had to fire a staffer for dishonesty.
Although there was a security on duty Wednesday night, he saw nothing, and may probably have dozed off at the time that the bomb was hurled into the yard.
Channa bombs are crudely made devices containing gasoline and channa which when lit and thrown can cause serious damage.
