DEAR EDITOR,
I read the recent intriguing letter from J.S.S. in your Wednesday edition. One idea left me racking my brains, i.e. “There appears to have been no attempt to team up with anyone to get a majority Government”. Team up with whom, I wondered?
From where I sit, the political parties appear to be poles apart. Race seems to dominate all else.
We can only hope and pray for the most vulnerable in “the land of the mighty Roraima and Kaieteur’s shining splendour”. Those of us who lustily sang that beautiful song at school, many moons ago, never envisaged the Guyana of today.
Sad, sad, sad – but not entirely hopeless.
