Guyana’s Lady Jags suffered their second loss in as many matches when qualifying in the CONCACAF Under-17 World Cup Qualifying completion continued with Round Two action in Jamaica.
The Reggae Girls followed up their 2-0 win over the Bahamas on Tuesday with a 5-0 win over the Guyanese to make it two wins out of two and cement their place in the CONCACAF Finals next year.
The Guyanese lost their leading goal scorer, Sara Vaughn via the red card route with three minutes to full time. Despite the loss, reports are that the Lady Jags played aggressively and created at least six opportunities but did not capitalize.
They will now face Bahamas who lost to Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 in their final group game tomorrow (Saturday). Despite losing two games each, a win for either country will see them qualifying for the CONCACAF Finals along with Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.
The two unbeaten teams will be battling for Group honors in the feature game tomorrow. The Bahamas is coached by Guyanese Paul James.
