Dear Editor,
Guyana needs a new breed of Policital Leaders, who are neither PPP nor PNC.
Within the last forty-five years all that the Guyanese populace has had is totalitarian, dictatorship, crooks, thieves, corruption and the list goes on. This has happened when PNC was in power and now the same is happening with the PPP.
It is time we have a system to reflect the diverse population and end favoritism and racism in Guyana. First we elect a Representative from the district to represent us in parliament .
Secondly we elect the President on a national level. Ministers of Government will no longer be parliamentarian. This way we can separate the powers of Government.
The way the system currently works if you are member of PPP, the same people are Ministers and Parliamentarians.
When they are corrupt, who can you complain to? We need to change the constitution to have a similar system of Government like Trinidad and Tobago.
It is very strange that the WPA has aligned with PNC. It was during the 80’s that Dr Rupert Roopnaraine’s car was burnt by PNC supporters on the West Bank and he had to be rescued and hire a car to cross the Guy Bridge.
Finally, Moses Nagamootoo will definetly bring credence to whom ever he is associated with. He is honest, bright, energetic and a no nonsense individual. Please do not listen to pompous Clement Rohee or any other PPP Member degrading Moses.
Freedom of the press should never be muzzled by any Government, unless the government owns the country.
The press should always stay clear from aligning itself with political parties. The truth and nothing but the truth should be reported.
Guyana Chronicle, Guyana Broadcasting Corporation and any media entity should be private.

These comments while being appropriate are late.
The PPP used their influence to buyout voters. Massive handout to sugar industry and govt employees and gifts to the nation before elections
Only, Hoyte did not…..
Your comments are good .but are the people in government who makes decision make changes .
