Highlighting the latest round of matches in the Memorex Enterprises sponsored Leslie Amsterdam Memorial Under-17 two-innings cricket competition was the outstanding bowling performance by former Guyana Under-15 and Berbice Under-17 all-rounder Shailendra Shameer who, playing for Rose Hall Town Bakewell took 8 for 28 from 18 overs in Port Mourant’s first innings to almost singlehandedly bowl them out for 90.
Madan Kumar Budhram led with 46 and when Rose Hall replied, Devin Baldeo scored 63 to help them to a 70 run lead. In the time left Port Mourant were able to reach 66 for 1 by the close with Budhram again in the runs with an unbeaten 53.
Berbice Under-17 cricketer Derick Narine-Lalsa had a good all-round match for D’Edward against Bush Lot United scoring 80 and 31* and taking 6 for 4 and 4 for 15 with his off spinners.

At Rose Hall Town – Rose Hall Town Bakewell took first innings points from Port Mourant in their drawn match. Port Mourant 90; Madan Kumar Budhram 46, Shailendra Shameer 8 for 28, Viendra Gooniah 2 for 17 and 2nd innings 66 for 1 with Madan Kumar Budhram 53*.
Rose Hall Town Bakewell 160; Devin Baldeo 63, Viendra Gooniah 25, Tameshwar Harrinarine 5 for 48, Youraj Rambarran 2 for 23.
At D’Edward – D’Edward beat Bush Lot United by 208 runs. D’Edward 227 for 6; Derick Narine-Lalsa 80, Besham Hargobin 47, Paul Dipnarine 3 for 50, Rayed Rakim 2 for 28 and 2nd innings 49 without loss; Derick Narine-Lalsa 31*. Bush Lot United 33; Derick Narine-Lalsa 6 for 4, Rakesh Ivan 2 for 12 and 2nd innings 35; Derick Narine-Lalsa 4 for 15.
At Blairmont – Blairmont Community Centre beat Rosignol United by an inning and 58 runs. Blairmont Community Centre 186 for 7 declared; Parmanand Ramdhan 48, Khemchand Persaud 43, Nick Ramsaroop 32, Ridwan Ramjohn 31, Budeshwar Persaud 5 for 58.
Rosignol United 62; Thomas Mc Donald 4 for 18, Akeem Miller 2 for 8, Keeno Kayume 2 for 13 and 2nd innings 66 for 8 closed with Thomas Mc Donald 5 for 8 and Akeem Miller 2 for 8.
