It was goals galore when play in the GFA / President Beer Super League continued on Sunday with a triple
header at the GFC ground.
In the highest scoring match of the day, the rapidly improving Northern Rangers unit inflicted a 10-1 drubbing on a hapless Houston Stars team that were clearly outplayed by a side that has shown remarkable progress over the past few months.
Anthony Sancho (11th, 12th & 16th) and Deron Bowen (20th, 31st & 72nd) netted a hat-trick apiece, while Mark Trotman (27th, 61st), Simon Emanuel (4th) and Gavin Bobb (47th) completed their tally.
Rickford Cummings (69th) minute effort was the solitary response for the Stars that obviously pitched on the night.
In the opening encounter, Flamingo cruised past Black Pearl 3-0 with Ronald Belle (13th), Jermaine Fletcher (33rd) and Dwayne Layne (74th) the players on target.
In the feature clash, reigning club champions Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United led by a brace from national striker Dwight Peters, who netted in the (65th & 72nd) minutes and a single each from recently recruited Manasseh Primo (7th) and Selwyn Isaacs (52nd) ensured that any threat hosts GFC might have posed was quickly erased after winning by a 4-1 margin.
Hanson Fredericks (77th) minute effort was all GFC had for a night of hard work on the pitch.
Meanwhile, the League continues today with a double header at the same venue.
In the first game, University of Guyana under Coach Earl O’ Neal, a former national standout centre back will look to secure anther win when they face Beacons from 18:00 hrs, while in the feature matchup, GFC return to action with a clash against Riddim Squad in what is anticipated to be an interesting contest.
This encounter starts at 20:00 hrs.
