Rudolph Mitchell’s scintillating feat that saw him chalking up one hundred and seventeen victories on the trot has made him the nation’s most popular race walker and he will attempt to continue the trend when the Cavalier’s Sports and Tour Club (CSTC) stages an event dubbed ‘Peace and Unity Race Walk’ at the Clay Brick Road, Den Amstel on Sunday November 20.
The race will move off at around 06:30hrs and proceed to the Lenora Bridge and back to its place of origin. Several other race walk stalwarts will attempt to halt Mitchell’s winning streak including Jeremy Cornelius, Jonathon Fagundes and female star, Donna Ramkissoon.
Meanwhile, coordinator of the CSTC, Olga Harry is making a spirited plea to the government as well as members of the business community for much needed support to offset the expenses of her organization. Several entities and individuals have already donated to the cause including Minister of Agriculture, Robert Persaud and Gafoor Group of companies.
