Relatives of Wilem Saul have gotten rid of their dogs that caused the 65 year old woman to lose her right hand.
Saul, who was mauled by two dogs at her residence on November 2, is said to be recovering fairly well in the Female Surgical ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
When this publication visited her at the GPHC, she was being cared for by relatives.
The 65-year-old woman’s right hand was amputated owing to the severity of the attack while a bandage was on the left wrist, her right eyelid had stitches, and her head was bandaged.
A source related that Saul had ventured downstairs into her Stanleytown, Berbice yard while the dogs were loose. She was immediately set upon and despite her screams it took a while before anyone came to her assistance. By then she had been severely mauled.
She was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital from where she was transferred to the city.
