As the Golden Jaguars continue their quest for World Cup honours, beverage giants, Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), has acquiesced to a sponsorship deal that will ensure that the team approach today’s assignment with gusto.
The company will be providing the footballers with Gatorade energy products in liquid and powdered form as well as several cases of Diamond Mineral Water for the duration of the game, which kicks off at 20:00h tonight.
Yesterday morning, Marketing Assistant (DDL), Larry Wills, handed over the items to the K&S duo Kashif Muhammad and Aubrey Major, at his company’s Industrial Site, Mandela Avenue office. He wished the local ball weavers well and further said that his company is proud to be associated with the all-important game. The DDL executive further pledged support for the ‘Wear Yellow’ initiative that urges local supporters to don yellow jerseys as a show of solidarity with the Golden Jaguars.
Mr. Muhammad extended gratitude to the DDL executive for his chivalry even as he urged locals to come out in their numbers and with drums, horns and every conceivable instrument in support of the Golden Jaguars. “The concept of wearing yellow is not only attributed to attendance at the venue; I wish to urge all Guyanese to don yellow whether in the office or fields or simply put something yellow on your vehicles,” Muhammad appealed. However, he is also encouraging citizens to trudge to the Providence Stadium attired in yellow in solidarity with the Jaguars.
The beverage company is promoting its Gatorade brand under the tagline re-hydrates, replenishes and refuels, while the Diamond Mineral Water is being advertised under the ‘Hydrate Your Life’ tag.
