Undoubtedly among the leading corporate entities that support sports locally, beverage giants Banks DIH seized the opportunity to make another emphatic statement about its contribution towards the development of athletes and sports after presenting three motor racers with substantial assistance yesterday, at Andrew King’s garage in Prashad Nagar.
Under three of their brands President Beer, Guinness and Banks Beer, representatives of the respective brands handed over financial support to the drivers as they prepare to represent Guyana on Sunday during the final leg of the GT&T / Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship at the South Dakota Circuit.
Andrew King, Danny Persaud and Afraz Allie were the recipients of the generosity extended by the Company and they will hope to keep the Guyana and the chequered flags flying high on Sunday as they seek to repel the challenges of the foreign invasion in the Caribbean Series.
Representing the Company were Guinness Brand Manager Brian Choo- Hen, Geoff Clement, Shawn Stephney, PRO Troy Peters and Consultant Michael Fung.
All three racers thanked the Company for its support, adding that without corporate assistance it would be extremely difficult for them to remain in the sport.
Choo-Hen disclosed, the Company is always looking for ways to assist in the development of sports across Guyana, adding that yesterday’s generosity was just a continuation of the relationship that exist between them and the motor racing fraternity.
He pledged his Company’s continued support in the future.
