It took the experience and nerves of David Patterson to seal victory for Hicken’s
Six in what was seemingly a one sided dominoes match against Austin Six and Alli’s Six which was contested on Thursday last at the Everest Pavilion.
The event was the birth anniversary of International 6 player, Charles Dobson and sponsored by Tony’s Jewellery of Alexander Village.
Austin’s 6 comprised of Wayne Austin, Charles Dobson, Tyrone Blackman, Keith Maloney. Imtiaz Ali and Ovid Davis, while Alli’s 6 comprised of Nigel Edwards, Edmund Sammy, Manniram Shew, Hilbert Ali Orin Boston and Intikab Ali.
The champion team was made up of Colin Hicken, Navin Samaroo, David Patterson, Samuel Humphrey, Anthony St. Kitts and Troy Alfred.
Hicken’s Six tallied 75 games, two more than Austin’s with Alli’s ending in the cellar position on 64 games.
The top markers were Keith Maloney and Samuel Humphrey with 15 games apiece, while Nigel Edwards, Anthony St. Kitts and Wayne Austin marked 14 games each.
Strolling down lover’s lane in the match were Manniram Shew, Charles Dobson and Troy Alfred.
On hand to present the trophy to Anthony St. Kitts and his victorious team members was proprietor of Tony’s Jewellery, Imtiaz Alli who congratulated the winning team, while expressing pleasure at being able to sponsor the event.
