The Net Rockers Football Club will be host the 2011 edition of their “Rising Stars” Under-15 tournament which was slated to kick off yesterday and will run until November 14 at the Wisburg Ground, Linden.
According to the Club, the tournament is being held as part of the Club’s continued effort to facilitate and promote the development the game of football in the Region.
“This tournament is aimed at realizing and fostering new talent for our next generation footballers and will feature five (5) affiliated clubs with full sanctioning from the Upper Demerara Football Association.” The Club stated in a release that the inaugural tournament was held back in 2009 and they are elated to say that its success was due to invaluable Cooperate contributions.
The Club announced that this year they are elated to have “Ever Pure Water” and “Farfan and Mendes” on board to yet again make the tournament a reality, contributions which will continue to build what the club considers a firm foundation for the future of football in Linden.
“We want to extend special thanks to these two entities for partnering with football and promises that their contributions will surely go a far way in the development of football in the Region and trust that this will foster continued partnerships with these entities, the Net Rockers FC and by extension the Upper Demerara Football Association.”
The Club also noted that with the support they received, they are quite confident that the tournament will achieve the desired expectations and more over contribute greatly to the mileage of these entities services and products.
Among the clubs vying for the top spot are Host Net Rockers F.C, Milerock, Winners Connection, Eagles United, and Amelia’s Ward Football Club.
Yesterday’s march past was followed by a Net Rockers taking on Milerock and Eagles United facing Winners Connection.
