Batson (66), Rikhi (34 and 55 N.O) & Ivan (4-6 & 4-16) shine
After the final preliminary round of the inaugural Universal DVD Club First Division Twenty/20 Cricket
Competition in Berbice last weekend, Rose Hall Town Gismos & Gadgets and Young Warriors have earned their places in the semi-finals
Led by former Berbice batsman Renwick Batson who slammed his second consecutive half-century (66 with 9 fours and 2 sixes) and 34 from Guyana Under-19 batsman Dominic Rikhi, Rose Hall Town made 160-4 against Skeldon who replied with 103 all out as off-spinner Rajiv Ivan took 4-6.
In their second match Ivan had 4-16 and leg-spinner Shawn Pereira 3-26 before he hit an unbeaten 55 as Rose Hall Town beat Police to remain unbeaten on top of Group B with 16 points.
Former Guyana t/20 batsman Richard Ramdeen took 2-17 with his left arm spin before scoring 37 with 3 fours and 1 six to see Young Warriors to victory over West Berbice to end Group B as runner-up with 12 points .
West Berbice registered two victories over the week-end to end on 8 points but missed out on the semi-finals. Led by a good all-round performance from Krishnadat Ramoo who scored 33 not out.
Steffon Adams (39) and Raffiel Estriado (32) also contributed as West Berbice made 156-3 against Police. Ramoo’s 4-11 and Guyana pacer Keon Joseph (3-17) then helped to bowl their team to a 78- run win. Ramoo’s (2-18) figured in West Berbice’s other victory against Skeldon.

Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets made 160 for 4 in 20 Overs with Renwick Batson 66, Dominic Rikhi 34, Eon Hooper 20 N.O, Rajiv Ivan 20 N.O. Skeldon made 103 in 17 Overs with Narendra Gopaul 28, Mark Lionel 21 and Anthony Bramble 18. Bowling for Rose Hall Town, Rajiv Ivan 4 for 6, Eon Hooper 2 for 17 from 4 Overs and Clinton Pestano 2 for 20 from 3 Overs.
At Cumberland, Rose Hall Town Gizmos & gadgets beat Police by 6 wickets. Police made 107 in 20 Overs with Rocky Hutson scoring 26 and Michael Hicks 25. Ivan 4 for 16 and Pereira 3 for 26. Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets reached 110 for 4 in 13.4 Overs with Dominic Rikhi 55 N.O, Rajiv Ivan 29 and Delbert Hicks 18.
At Bush Lot in West Berbice, Young Warriors beat West Berbice by 6 wickets. West Berbice made 128 all out in 19.2 Overs with Ralph Ogle making 28, Krishnadat Ramoo 19, Keith Fraser 19 and Richard Ramdeen 2 for 17. Kevin Ramdeen took 2 for 23 from 4 Overs and Linden Austin 2 for 26 from 4 Overs. Young Warriors 129 for 4 in 18 Overs with Richard Ramdeen 37 and Balram Samaroo 26.
At Cumberland, West Berbice beat Police by 78 runs. West Berbice made 156 for 3 in 20 Overs with Steffon Adams 39not out, Krishnadat Ramoo unbeaten on 33, Raffiel Estriado 32 and Kwesi Mentore 26. Police fell for 78 in 15 Overs with Richards getting 22. Ramoo took 4 for 11 and Keon Joseph 3 for 17.
At Bush Lot in West Berbice, West Berbice beat Skeldon by 4 wickets in a match reduced to 15 Overs-a-side due to a delayed start because of late preparation. Skeldon made 78 for 5 in their 15 Overs with Anthony Bramble scoring 22 and Jermain Reid 16.
Ramoo had 2 for 18 for West Berbice who reached 79 for 6 in 13.1 Overs with Keith Fraser making 16, Raffiel Estriado 15. Bowling for Skeldon left arm spinner Wazir Hussain captured 2 for 10 from 3 Overs, pacer Jermain Reid 2 for 18 from 3 Overs and medium pacer Sherwin Murray 2 for 20 from 3 Overs.
