2011 New Building Society Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition …
Hamant Jagdeo slammed 105, the first century of the competition, and his team mate Lakeram Latchman 62 (10 fours), his second consecutive half century following his 82 last week, to pace No. 73 Young Warriors to a mammoth 311 for 8 in 40 Overs against No. 70 Young Blood in their 2nd round match of the 2011 New Building Society Second Division Cricket Competition in Berbice.
The two of them had put on 150 for the 2nd wicket in just 20 Overs between them. Latchman then came back with the ball, opened the bowling and took 4 for 32 from 6 Overs which together with offspinner Jagdeo’s 2 for 5 from 3 Overs, saw Young Blood bowled out for 68, giving the Warriors a 243-run victory.
Muneshwar Imrit slammed 67 (5 fours and 6 sixes), his second consecutive half century, and Joseph Brijbilas 57 (5 fours and 3 sixes) to pace No. 48 challengers to 270 all out in 30 Overs against No. 47 Pioneer.
Their team-mate, medium pacer Balram Persaud, who had a six-wicket haul last week, then took 5 for 53 to help restrict the Pioneers to 181 with Boudhar Seudhar contributing 71 (4 fours and 2 sixes).
After Matthew Maltay slammed a quick 63 (11 fours and 2 sixes) to help Sisters reach 190 in 27.1 Overs against Flying Star of Korthberaadt whose offspinner Charles Cort took 5 for 21 from 5 Overs. Flying Star went on to win by 7 wickets despite Sisters pacer Odwin Wilson taking 4 for 21.
Yudrunauth Seepersaud’s 81 (7 fours and 1 six) helped Edinburgh register a victory over Glasgow New Scheme whose pacer Derick Cadogan took 4 for 43.
Notable allround performances were turned in by Mahendra Ramdihal of Tamarind Root (2 for 29 and 56) and Vishal Mohabir of Canefield (2 for 25 and 52 N.O).
