Detectives are in the process of obtaining statements from doctors and nurses, who were in charge of a patient, who died at the Suddie Public Hospital a few days after she had given birth to her baby.
Reports are that the baby died four days after it was born to 34-year-old mother, Carol Goddett, a mother of four young girls of Charity Back Street, Essequibo Coast.
According to reports, Goddett was admitted to the Suddie Public Hospital Corporation, on October 12, last, and remained a patient at that institution, until she gave birth to a baby girl on October 21.
Reports added that Goddett’s baby died four days after she came into the world. The mother died on Thursday at the said facility.
According to a post mortem report conducted yesterday by Pathologist Vivekanand Bridgemohan the woman died from septicemia.
