Guyana born Papo Haniff, who admitted that it took quite a few pleas from close friends to convince him to play in this year’s RI Vodka Guyana Open Golf Tournament vindicated his decision by capturing the title yesterday at the Lusignan Course.
Haniff, home from Trinidad and Tobago to bury his mother after living in the Twin Island Republic for the past 25 years, though not replicating his first day performance, did enough to hold off the charging Mohanlall Dinanauth and S. Deosarran, while Christine Sukhram proved her dominance once again by successfully defending her title.
She came home ahead of Suriname’s Petra Beems and Joann Deo in that order.
