Guyana’s junior national female basketball team that will compete at the 2011 Inter-Guiana Games (IGG) will have a daunting task of reversing history against Suriname and French Guiana when they compete later this week in Paramaribo.
The team formed part of a 160-man contingent from seven sport disciplines that left Guyana for Suriname early this morning to compete in the Games.
The other two members of the team whose profiles are missing are Minnifia Fox and Ginelle Ifill. The team is expected to return to Guyana on Monday, following what will be their toughest challenge as national athletes.

Coach’s Comment: “These players may be young but compared to the other teams we will face in Suriname, I see them as no different in game. This is a young team preparing for the future. It is very important that we support them and help build them so that we can get the kind of results we want in the future. We are going to Suriname to make in impact.”
