A patient innings of 53 by national Under-19 player Dominic Rikhi led Rose Hall Town Bakewell to a three wicket win and a positive start to their New Building Society Second Division tournament campaign. Rikhi steered his team to 153 for 7 in 34 overs replying to Tain Block Four’s total of 151 all out.
Batting first after winning the toss, Tain Block Four were bowled out for 151 off 37.2 overs with W. Charles 41, Kemraj Sugrim 32 and Satesh Diaram 20 the principal scorers. For Rose Hall Town Bakewell, Captain Ravi Narine led the bowling with 3 for 31, off spinner Shailendra Shameer 3 for 33 and Dominic Rikhi 2 for 34.
Rose Hall Town Bakewell in reply reached 153 for 7 in 34 overs due to Rikhi’s disciplined knock of 53 (7×4,1×6), Moonish Singh 23 (2×6 1×4), Nicholas Cameron 20 and Ravi Narine 19. Bowling for Tain Block Four, M. Mohabir took 2 for 55 and Matthew Maynard 2 for 18.
