B House takes EISS inter house title
Arthurville Primary School amassed 395 points to win the Wakenaam Inter Schools Junior Athletics championship on Friday at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground. Sans Souci Primary came second with 374 points, while Maria’s Pleasure placed third with 88.
Following are the champion athletes for various categories of events.
Boys U-8 – Tyrone Dowlin – (APS)
Girls U-8 – Cyanna Retemiah – (APS)
Boys – U-10 – Fitzroy Retemiah (APS)
Girls – U-10 – Antazia Chung (APS)
Boys – U-12 – Nkosie Hollingsworth (SSPS)
Girls – U-12 – Cynthia Retemiah (APS)
Meanwhile, the lone Secondary School on the island, Essequibo Island Secondary ran off their inter house athletics sports the same day with B – House taking first place with 329 points followed by C house on 309 and A house on 248.
The champion athletes are Kemo Paul – Boys U -14, Kesha Brown Girls U-14, Terrence Wallace – Boys U-16, Celina Robertson girls U-16 and Maurice Retemiah Boys U-20. (Champion athletes are individuals who won the events in their respective categories).
Meanwhile, Wakenaam and Leguan will clash in the inter branch athletics championship in Leguan on the 19th & 20th of October after which District 16 (E’bo Islands) will select their team for the National Schools Championship.
Trophies were donated by Salim’s Speed Boat Service, Wakenaam NDC & Ramsay Ali.
