Overseas based Guyanese cyclist Godfrey Pollydore was a class above the field when he won the feature 35-lap school boys and invitational race at the National Park yesterday when the Hand in Hand Group of Companies held the 8th annual 11-Race Cycle Meet organised by National Coach, Hassan Mohamed.
Pollydore won from a field of experience and youth in One Hour 15 Minutes 25.06 Seconds. Settling for 2nd was Eric Sankar with Paul De Nobrega, Marlon ‘Fishy’ Williams, Raynauth Jeffrey and Albert Philander closing out the top six.
Pollydore won four of the six sprint prizes on offer with Williams taking; one each to De Nobrega and Lear Nunes.
Reece claimed the junior department, celebrating his call up to the Inter Guiana Games squad.

Veterans U-50 – Phillip Piggot, Sybourne Fernandes, Esau O’Selmo
Veterans O-50 – Wilfred Thom, Harry Lall
Veterans O-60 – Anthony Fariah, Maurice Fagundes, Harry Lall
Meanwhile, in its continuing efforts to ensure the development of young riders, Hand in Hand presented three BMX cycles to Justin DeNobrega, Filbert Walters, and Turan Garbarran.
Business Development Manager Vivek Joshi and Marketing Coordinator Andrea Jodhan-Khan were on hand to present the BMX cycles as well as the trophies and other incentives to the top performers in each category.
