Making full use of their home advantage Bakewell Buxton Stars recorded their 5th win of the season turning back the challenge of BV Triumph United 2-0 at the Buxton Community Centre Ground on Sunday last.
The win for Bakewell Buxton Stars drew them level on wins and points (7) with BVTU the former losing one game and drawing the other while BVTU have lost twice. Charting the win for Buxton Stars were Neville Gulliver with a goal in the 33rd minute and Randy Phyll with the other in the 59th minute.
The other game played produced a 2-2 draw between Mahaica and Ann’s Grove. Mahaica had taken the lead with a 6th minute conversion from Mark Collins but that advantage was cancelled out in the 28th minute when Ann’s Grove’s Carlton Jerrick blasted the nets.
It was Ann’s Grove’s turn to take pole position in the 57th minute compliments of a Nokosie Denny strike but Mahaica ensured an equal share of the spoils when they drew level through Azumah Roberts in the 66th minute. Competition is expected to continue this weekend.
