The Queen’s College auditorium was the venue yesterday for Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited’s RightStart Academic Achievement Awards, with five account holders, all first formers of the school, being rewarded.
The brief occasion, held during general assembly, acknowledged the outstanding accomplishments of the students at this year’s National Grade Six Assessment. The auspicious winners were Sarah David- Longe, Edmund Henry, Brassette Henry, Niarie Mc Kenzie, and Maneesha Balgobin. The award consisted of a RightStart Gift Certificate valued $10,000 and a stationery kit.
According to Denys Benjamin, Manager, Corporate Operations “We (Republic Bank) recognize the immeasurable value of education and its importance to the development of our nation and its youth…”
It was noted that the Board of Directors, Management and Staff of Republic Bank are huge supporters for its (the award’s) continuance, and expressed hope that their contribution to the top five RightStart Account Holders would encourage their progress on the road to success.
