Dear Editor,
The feeling among Guyanese that the lawlessness and vulgarity that have come to characterize the PPP/C government cannot get any worse is constantly proven false by new excesses from the Jagdeo regime.
No civilize country organizes ‘national worshipping ceremonies’ for their outgoing leaders to thank them for what is merely doing the job they were elected to do.
This is even more unlikely to occur in a country such as Guyana where, when all is considered, the president has been a complete failure.
The obscene display at the National Stadium last Friday has taken the vulgarity of the Jagdeo regime to a whole new level.
The President and his apologists routinely condone and encourage the misuse of state funds and resources to further the political agenda of the PPP/C.
The circus that was held ‘in appreciation of the president’ is the most recent example of this despicable trend.
Massive state resources, including that of the already cash-starved GDF, GPF and GUYSUCO were used to pull off this soiree. At the end of the day, it is us, the taxpayers who will have to pick up this filthy bill.
Let us put an end to the decline of our beloved country and vote these scoundrels out of office this year. That is the only hope for a better and brighter Guyana, free from lawlessness and widespread corruption.
