In observance of Caribbean Wellness Day, the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport will be hosting a day of sports at the Carifesta Sports Complex (GNS Ground) tomorrow September 15 commencing at 13:00 hrs.
The day’s activities include: Five-a-side Football (male & female), Circle Tennis (Mixed Teams), Athletics inclusive of Novelty Events, Soft-ball Cricket (Mixed Teams).
The primary purpose of this event is for staff members to be engaged in interactive sessions with a view of promoting good health and fostering better relations with each other.
On the programme are welcome remarks will be given by the Parliamentary Secretary, Steve Ninvalle, while the feature address will be delivered by the Minister of Culture, Youth & Sport Dr. Frank Anthony and the closing remarks by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Alfred King.
This event was organized by Steve Ninvalle, Administrative Secretary General (ag) Ms. Alexis Sullivan, the Director of Youth Mr. Carl Brandon and Procurement Officer, Dale France.
Guyana, along with other CARICOM countries signed the Port of Spain Declaration in 2007, as part of this declaration Governments made several commitments including the commitment to participate in the Observance of Caribbean wellness Day which is hosted on the second Saturday in September.
