Tenelec Inc Berbice cricket
The Tenelec Inc First Division 50-over Cricket Competition in Berbice continued last Saturday with three third round matches.
Highlighting the round was a brilliant 92 (9 fours) by Keion De Jesus of Memorex Bermine against West Berbice. Opening the batting for the first time for his club, he was involved in a 100-run opening partnership with Trinson Bynoe and a 53 run 3rd wicket partnership with Berbice batsman Eugene La Fleur. After De Jesus departed, La Fleur added 39 for the 4th wicket with another Berbice batsman Devon Clements (9) before be fell for 55 (2 sixes and 1 four). Memorex Bermine went on to make 253-9 in 43 Overs.
West Berbice could only respond with 131 with former Guyana Under-15 all-rounder Romario De Jonge Shepherd and left-arm spinner Troy Mickle picking up three wickets each.
In a 20-over affair due to rain, Romesh Boodram smashed 10 fours and 3 sixes in rattling 80 in just 50 balls assisting Blairmont to a challenging 167-4 against Police who fell for 101 with off-spinner Shabeer Baksh taking 4-14.
After Albion’s bowlers, Gudakesh Motie (3 for 19), Narsingh Deonarine (3 for 21) and Devendra Bishoo (2 for 21) routed Young Warriors for 136, Harrinarine Chattergoon 59 guided Albion to a 6-wicket victory by putting on 50 for the first wicket with his brother Sewnarine Chattergoon (12), 38 for the second wicket with Deonarine and 44 for the 3rd wicket with Jonathan Foo (21 N.O).

At Bush Lot in West Berbice, Memorex Bermine beat West Berbice by 122 runs. In the match which was reduced to 43-Overs-a-side because of a late start due to overnight rain, Memorex Bermine won the toss and made 253-9 in 43 overs. (Keion De Jesus 92, Eugene La Fleur 55, Trinson Bynoe 27, Stephen Latcha 23; Dennis Webster took 4-60, Dwayne Duke 2-38).
West Berbice 131 all out in 27 overs. (Keyron Fraser 43, Romario De Jonge 3-26, Troy Mickle 3-39, Mark Jackman 2-16 and Steven Latcha 2-31).
At Blairmont, Blairmont beat Police by 66 runs in a match reduced to 20 overs-a-side due to late start because of overnight rain. Blairmont made 167-4 in their 20 overs (Romesh Boodram 80, Karamchand Bissoondial 22*, Kellon Henry 2-18).
Police replied with 101 all out in 19 overs. (Rawle Scott 27; Shabeer Baksh 4-14, Akram Rahaman 2-12.
At Cumberland, Albion beat Young Warriors by 6 wickets. Due to overnight rain, the match was reduced to 33 overs-a-side and Albion asked Young Warriors to take first strike. Young Warriors made 136 in 31 overs (Richard Ramdeen 43, Kevin Ramdeen 28, Gudakesh Motie 3-19, Narsingh Deonarine 3-21, Devendra Bishoo 2-21. Albion 140-4 in 29 overs (Harrinarine Chattergoon 59, Jonathan Foo 21*, Narsingh Deonarine 20, Kevin Ramdeen 2-28).
