The Ministry of Sport yesterday presented the prize money for the East Ruimveldt Community Big Day football tournament staged last Sunday at the area’s community ground.
Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Sport, Steve Ninvalle, handed over $160,000 to Eusi Davis, Chairman of the East Ruimveldt Youth Group at his office yesterday which covers the top three prizes for the tournament. West Ruimveldt won the event ahead of East Ruimveldt with Texas third.
Ninvalle informed that the group had approached the Office of the President for assistance and under President Jagdeo’s support programme for community based programmes it was decided to immediately assist and provide the prizes.
Davis expressed his thanks for the support of the ministry for their support.
