Aruwai Mining Inc./D&C Promotions T20 KO cricket
With rivalry set to increase as the battle for semifinal places continues in the Aruwai Mining Inc. / D&C Promotions Twenty20 knock-out cricket competition continues this weekend, corporate giants Ansa McAl Trading and Digicel have formalized their partnership with the competition.
Both companies which have been giving back to sports and its development in Guyana generously are maintaining that commitment to ensure continuous growth.
Two potentially explosive quarterfinal matches are slated for the Bartica Community Centre Ground on Friday featuring the star studded New Line Cavaliers coming up against the determined East Bank Essequibo, while Rising Stars will be locked in battle against Orient.
The respective winners march into the semifinals to join Super Kings and Challengers. The semifinals will be contested on Saturday with the third-place and final is set for Sunday at the same venue.
Public Relations Officer of Ansa McAl Trading Ms. Darshanie Yussuf handed over the cheque for an undisclosed amount to D&C Promotions Secretary Ms. Cianna Persaud who also accepted the cheque from Digicel’s PRO Ms. Shonnet Moore.
Both Yussuf and Moore disclosed their pleasure at being associated with the tournament which provides quality entertainment for the people of Bartica to a large extent.
They congratulated the promoters for a well thought out tournament and promised their continued commitment for the competition in its second year and is run in collaboration with the Bartica Cricket Committee and the Essequibo Cricket Board.
The winning team will walk away with a whopping $600,000 – sponsored by Aruwai Mining Inc. – after only three games with the losing finalist collecting half of the winner’s prize. Winner of the 3rd place encounter will receive $100,000.
