Tenelec Inc First Division 50-Over Cricket
The 2011 Tenelec Inc First Division 50-Over Round Robin Cricket Competition organised by the Berbice Cricket Board, continued on Sunday with three of the scheduled second round matches with the fourth one between Young Warriors and Skeldon Community Centre postponed due to the unavailability of the Skeldon team.
Essequibo left arm spinner Robert Moore, playing in his first season for Port Mourant Karibee Rice, took 5 for 28 from 7 Overs to help bowl out Police “B” Division for 152 after they has an opening stand of 60 from Don Farley (46) and Winston Rose (13). Moore, whose wickets were all consecutive saw Police decline from 81 for 3 to 148 for 8, Offspinner Devendra Thakurdeen cleaned up the last two.
In Port Mourant’s reply, they lost former Guyana Under-19 batsman Moshin Perkhan early to be 9 for 1 but Shameer Khan made 51 (5 fours and 1 six) and Shastri Persaud 43 to see Port Mourant through to 154 for 4. After Memorex Bermine had Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets slightly to the ropes at 118 for 6 in the 26th Over, seasoned campaigners Neil Williams, a former Berbice batsman and Khemraj Mahadeo who represented Berbice at the Under-19 level, came together and stopped the slide and proceeded to put on a 90 runs 7th wicket partnership before Williams fell to Kellon Carmichael for 40. Mahadeo then steered Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets to 265 for 8 in their 47 Overs, he remaining unbeaten at 53 N.O (3 fours ad 1 six).
Memorex Bermine in reply lost Guyana opening batsman Shemroy Barrington for 15 at 23 for 1 but his fellow opening batsman former Guyana Under-15 cricketer Romario
De Jonge Shepherd and a former Guyana Under-19 batsman Anthony D’Andrade gave some hope by putting on 75 for the second wicket. But after offspinner Williams removed both of them and went on to pick up two more and at the same time offspinner Rajiv Ivan taking three, Bermine fell away to 162 all out.
Edinburgh made 181 against Blairmont Community Centre, their offspinner Mark Sampson took 4 for 28 from 9 Overs which together with 3 for 23 from pacer Vishal Mohabir saw Blairmont bowled out for 87 in reply.

In the match which was reduced to 46 Overs-a-side due to pitch-preparation-moisture, Police won the toss and batted first with Don Farley 46, Philbert Wilburgh 36. Bowling for Port Mourant, Robert Moore 5 for 28 from 7 Overs, Devendra Thakurdeen 2 for 16 from 3.5 Overs and former Berbice Under-19 offspinner Rajendra Bolo 2 for 42 from 10 Overs.

At Rose Hall Town, Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets beat Memorex Bermine by 103 runs. In the match which was reduced to 47 Overs-a-side also because of pitch-preparation-moisture, Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets losing the toss and asked to take first strike, made 265 for 8 in their allotted Overs with Khemraj Mahadeo 53 N.O, Neil Williams 40 and Berbice batsman Renwick Batson 41 and Guyana Under-19 allrounder Clinton Pestano 20. Bowling for Memorex Bermine, pacer Mark Jackman took 2 for 19, former Guyana Under-19 offspinner Stephen Latcha 2 for 39 and offspinner Shemroy Barrington 2 for 46.

At Edinburgh, Edinburgh beat Blairmont Community Centre by 94 runs. Edinburgh won the toss, batted first and made 181 all out in 40 Overs with Shafik Khan 49, Yudrunauth Seepersaud 26, Chris Yadram 25 and Danny David 23. Bowling for Blairmont Community Centre medium pacer Deveshwari Persaud took 3 for 38 from 7 Overs, left arm spinner Parmanand Ramdhan 2 for 6 from 4 Overs and pacer Akhram Rahaman 2 for 36 from 6 Overs.
Blairmont Community Centre 87 all out in 22 Overs with Deveshwari Persaud 21. Bowling for Edinburgh, Mark Sampson 4 for 28 from 9 Overs, Vishal Mohabir 3 for 23 from 7 Overs and offspinner Raid Ali 2 for 6 from 4 Overs.
