Guyana’s Superbike champion Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira maintained his irrepressible form at the second leg of the Caribbean Motor racing Championship at Bushy Park, registering three wins in as many starts to dominate the category last Sunday in Barbados.
Vieira said despite his overwhelming success, he was a bit disappointed that he could not better his lap record set last year because of the wet track due to rain which made the surface a bit dangerous.
He, however, disclosed how happy he was with the support received from the large contingent of Guyanese that thronged the Circuit, adding that he was even given a huge national flag to do his victory lap from one of his supporters.
Vieira, who now leads the CMRC Superbike category, extended thanks to his sponsor Sunburst Orange Juice and his mechanic Maurice Menezes for his assistance in getting the machine in top condition to take on the best in the Caribbean.
The local champion said he is now looking forward to extending his dominance in the division in November when the final leg of the Series is held at the South Dakota Circuit in Guyana.
