Milo Under-23 Football Tournament
– Riddim Squad draw with Northern Rangers
The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) rebounded from their opening round loss to Flamingo to inflict a 2-1 win over Sunburst Camptown on Sunday evening as play in the Milo Under-23 Football Tournament organised by Fruta Conquerors continued, at the Tucville ground.
The diminutive Paul Bobb netted a penalty in the 60th minute, before returning 14 minutes later to score the winner.
Earlier, Sunburst Camptown had taken the lead through Sahall Greaves, who reached onto the end of a cross from the left flank and side-footed the ball into the back of the net. That goal came in the 13th minute of play.
In another entertaining encounter, Guyana Police Force (GPF) also found their rhythm to enter the point standings on a positive note after beating Charlestown United 2-0 thanks to a brace from Derron Bentick, who netted in the 60th and 65th minutes of play, while in the first game of the triple-header, Riddim Squad and Northern Rangers played to a 1-1 stalemate.
On target for Riddim Squad was Dorville Stewart, whose penalty came in the 45th minute, while Tevin Foster responded in the 50th minute for Northern Rangers.
Meanwhile, the Organisers disclosed that Riddim Squad has replaced Black Pearl, who failed to show up for their opening match.
The competition continues today with another triple-header that features GFC versus Riddim Squad from 17:00 hrs; Sunburst Camptown vs. Northern Rangers at 19:00 hrs and Santos vs. Beacons from 21:00 hrs.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
