The Flying Aces Cycling Club of New Amsterdam has selected a strong four man team to travel to Suriname to participate in the Suriname Four stage race.
The cyclists selected are team captain and Guyana’s top junior Cyclist Neil Reece, Nashane Jaundoo, Wasim Hasnoo and Rohan Persaud with Coach Randolph Roberts serving as manager coach. The International event will be held on September 3 and4 and will see cyclist from a number of countries participating.
Reece who is riding under the A. Ally ad Sons Brand and was recently presented with a new bicycle, compliments of that business entity has been in ripping form lately, since receiving the new state of the art cycle and is expected to give a good account of himself and team.
Coach Roberts will also have the added responsibility of managing a team of cyclist from Linden who will also be making the trip to Suriname. That team comprise of Orville Hinds, Akim Arthur, Gordon Simmons, Michel Anthony, Rajpat O’Selmo, Mark Lewis, Cort La Rose, and Walter Grant Stuart.
Meanwhile, the management of the Flying Ace Cycle Club will like to thank the following persons who have helped to make the cyclist trip to Suriname a possibility: Overseas based Guyanese Rawle Felix, A. Ally’s and Sons chain of Stores, Stretch D Dollars Supermarkets, Basdeo Sawmills, Water Crest hotel, Ganesh Singh and Brothers sawmills, Arokium Funeral Parlour, Pawan Taxi service, Attorney at law Mursaline Bacchus, Lewison General and Cycle Store and Amanda’s Variety store among others.
The team is expected to leave Guyana on September 1.
