It was a mixture of fun characterized by fierce competitive spirit when the African Cultural Development Association (ACDA) sports committee staged a day of sports to commemorate their 16th anniversary at their Thomas Street headquarters over the past weekend.
The day started with a cricket match between the female Underdogs team defeating their male counterparts shortly before the domino competition got underway.
In that tournament, Under the Tree domino team chalked up 48 games to cart off the honours, while Sophia Warriors finished second with 44 games. The Prisons finished in the cellar with 41 games.
The players received trophies and medals donated by Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, Caricom, OMAI Gold Mines, Giftland Office Max, Minister of Agriculture, Robert Persaud, Prime Minister, Samuel Hinds, PNCR executive, Robert Corbin, Ken Phillips, Attorney-at-Law Basil Williams and UG Registrar, Vincent Alexander among others.
