Teenager Shamaine Campbell and fellow Berbician Tremayne Smartt are the only Guyanese on the West Indies Women squad to face Pakistan in the Caribbean.
June Ogle-Thomas, Sabrina Munroe and Erva Giddings were the West Indies players in the Guyana team who failed to regain their places in the regional team.
Fifteen year-old leg-spinner Shaquana Quintyne and fellow Barbadian, Kycia Knight are the players without previous West Indies experience in14-member squad to be captained by Trinidadian wicketkeeper Merissa Aquilleira.
The 19 year old spinner, Knight, is also a Barbadian national footballer, is the reserve Wicketkeeper in the side which was selected from this month’s Regional 50-over competition which was won by Jamaica in Barbados.
Windies Women will take on Pakistan Women in four One Day Internationals and four International Twenty20s in St Vincent, Grenada and Guyana starting August 28th and running until September 11th.
The star studded Windies squad includes the world rated all rounder Stafanie Taylor and batting powerhouse Deandra Dottin along with world rated off-spinner Anisa Mohamed.
