Brothers Roshan and Mohamed Ali of Team Fullworks produced some thrilling duels to dominate
the Rookies category during the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club Meet which was staged last Sunday, at the South Dakota Circuit.
The duo along with stablemate Shiraz Roshandin were clearly the most impressive team, registering a total of six wins, three runners-up spots and two third places and must now be one of the more formidable team in local racing.
Roshan, who drives a Toyota Glanza captured two first places and a second, while Mohamed, who pilots a Toyota Starlet, grabbed a win, a second and third places to crown a solid day for the team.
Roshandin, who completed the team, was even more dominant, speeding to victory in three races to go with second and third places.
Speaking at their location on the East Coast of Demerara, Mohamed said that the entire team was extremely pleased with their performance and are all eagerly looking forward to the November Meet which brings with it an international flavour.
“We are all very happy and satisfied with the results and all eyes are now fixed on duplicating or even bettering Sunday’s performance,” Mohamed said.
Asked whether the two will be moving up to the Group 2A division, he replied in the negative, adding that it will take some more time on the track and a little more success, before such a decision is made.
He, however, exuded confidence in the team’s future performance which he opined will get better with the modifications anticipated to be made.
“We are confident that we could better the recent performance and even though we know that other competitors will be aiming to make further improvements to their machines I feel that we will be able to maintain our dominance,” Mohamed felt.
More known for their rule of the 3-hour Endurance race which they’ve dominated for the past three years, including bettering their performance each year, the brothers indicated that they intend as a team to produce more inspiring performances in the future.
Roshan was unavailable for comments, but in brief remarks via telephone expressed pleasure on the team’s performance.
