The dumping and burning of garbage currently affect many market areas. This is mostly so in the Kitty market
area where vendors are affected by the condition and structure of the building that houses the Kitty Market.
These vendors have been complaining to Government for some time now.
Yesterday at the Kitty Market, most of the vendors had something to say about the dangerous building above their heads. This building was to be reconstructed some time; work, was started but never completed.
Numerous vendors have settled outside selling their produce because of the dilapidated structure.
Many are fearful for their lives and for those who enter the market.
Yesterday, at the Kitty market, one woman was seen closing the gates and when asked about the garbage she said, “We always use bins”.
But despite the use of the bins, garbage was strewn on the parapet.
