In what was termed a “blatant bare faced theft”, thieves made good their escape with a woman’s green ‘two-12’ (PJJ 9324) which was parked on Saffon Street, Charlestown yesterday morning.
Isabella Kumar of Gordon Street, Kitty, stated that she owns a stall in the La Penitence Market (stall # 43) and parked her vehicle in front of the vulcanizing shop (next to ‘Happy Hour’ Chinese Restaurant) during the Sunday morning marketing hours.
When she returned to the spot where the vehicle was parked, she was alarmed to discover that the car was nowhere in sight. This was just before lunch hours.
A complaint was lodged at the Rumveildt Police Station and police ranks are currently conducting investigations into the matter.
