When Group 2A and B driver Shiraz Roshandin takes to the track on Sunday, at the South Dakota Circuit, he will be powered by one of the world leading oil companies, TOTAL Lubricants, which is also associated with leading Formula 1 Team Red Bull.
Roshandin, the current 3-hour Endurance champion will be making a return to the track after suffering an injury last November that forced him out of racing since, but according to him he is anxiously anticipating a triumphant come back on a track that has been upgraded recently and conducive for fast times and enthralling racing.
“We had an opportunity to test the car recently and we’re quite satisfied with its performance which we feel is good enough to take the top honours come Sunday,” Roshandin told this newspaper at his business entity on 51 Eccles Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
The young speed ace who pilots a Toyota Levin is co-sponsored by TOTAL Lubricants and Fullworks and he exuded confidence ahead of the Meet, adding that the likes of Chet and Raj Singh, Ernesto Choo, Shawn Shewjattan and Jad Rahaman are likely to be his strongest opposition, bt reckoned that with the phenomenal growth the sport has enjoyed over the past two years there is no telling what the other young and upcoming drivers will do on the day.
“You just have to go in there and anticipate that every driver that takes to the starting line is a potential challenger and could beat you,” he said.
Roshandin disclosed that car is in great shape and he is mentally and physically prepared to do something special come race day.
