All roads will lead to the Norman Singh Memorial Turf Club today when the entity in collaboration with Digicel stages their Classic Mega Horserace Meet at Bel Air No 6.Village, West Coast Berbice.
The event, amongst the biggest to be staged this year has total prize money of over $10M up for grabs.
Ten races are listed for the day and with such an enormous sum at stake, it is no wonder entries have topped the 100 mark, making it the largest amount of horses to confirm participation for this year.
The feature event is for ‘B’ class horses with a whopping $1.2M and trophy up for grabs for the winner with a total purse of over $2.5M over a distance of 1600metres.
A large field of 14 horses have been entered with all the top runners expected to go after each other for the sizable takings on offer.
Those expected to go are Zelik, The Message, Champtress, Dubai Dutchess, Night Crescendo, Ferry landing, Stormy Flame, Grand De Roja, Donut Prince, Marathon Man, Gullium, Wad a Luck, Mr. Gold Finger, and Sir Balajee
The 3 year-old race for West Indian bred horses, has Face D Fire, Irish Girl, Work Force, Swing Easy, Gold Plated, Bridal Stone Corner, Northern Dancer, Captain Cook, Peace and Love, Weekend Surprise, Celebration Love and Sweet Miss going for the $600,000 top prize for the winner also over 1600M.
Among those lined up for the F and lower race over 1200M with a first prize of $500,000 are Dubai Duchess, The Bailiff, Momzele, the Gap, Appealing Harvest, Sir Balagee, Prospectors Pride, King Maker, Stormy Deal and 18 carat
Red Cloud, Times have Change, Windy War, Happy Choice, Serenity, Pride and Joy, Settle In Seattle, Princess Haya, Hidden Reflection and Feels Like Gold are among the entries in the race for the two-year old West Indian bred horses with a winners’ purse of $450,000 over 1100M.
The G and lower even also have a first prize of $400.000 over a distance is 1400M.
Those entered are Top of The Line, Maya, Zelona, Miracle Run, Gabriel’s Gold, Stormy Lass, South Sea, Five Star General, Stormy Deal, Sir Balajie, and Pegasus Rising.
A top notch field has been entered for the Guyana bred three-year old event which includes Prince Renukha, Wicket Intention, Super Cat, Apostle and J.D Junior for the $250,000 winner’s money over1400M.
The I1 event has such horses as Infinity, Extra Heat, Savion, Monalisa 2, No Body Knows, Romeo and The Lion running for the $180,000 first prize over 1200M.
Apostle, Ravi B, Speed Vision, Silver Kid, Kevin, JD Junior, Pinky, Northern Junior, Cash Connection, O so Sharp and Gaza man are the top contenders in the I3 event with the winner set to take home $170,000 over 1100M.
The JK&L Dem a watch me, Red Power, Miss find a Money, Red Power, Great Prospect, Domination, Ruffian man, War Time and New Moon. event line up includes Silver Kid, Royal Intention, Great Prospect, War Time , Baya and No Surprises over 1400M .
The winning purse is $150,000.
The final event is for horses that would have never started and never placed over 1000M
Outstanding individual performers including top Jockey, trainer and stable will be presented with accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.

Horse owners are also reminded to get their horses properly registered with the GHRA as those horses not properly entered will be debarred from participating in the day’s proceedings.
