Law enforcement officers in Region Two have launched an investigation into the arrest of a 33-year-old porter who reportedly sexually molested his three-year-old neice.
Investigation revealed that on July 18, at Suddie, Pradeep Singh, a\k Goat, after committing the act on his neice, has since gone into hiding.
On the day in question, the toddler was left in the care of her grandmother, at Suddie, but due to unfortunately falling ill, the child’s grandmother had to be subsequently taken to the Suddie Public Hospital for medical attention.
The child was then left in the care of one of her aunts. The aunt was alerted by an unusual sound emanating from one of the bedrooms in the Suddie home.
Swiftly reacting to sound, the aunt reportedly pounced upon the child and her uncle lying in the same bed. The child was awake while the uncle apparently pretended to be asleep upon, the aunt’s sudden approach.
The matter is currently being investigated by ranks at the Suddie Police Station. Kaieteur News was also informed that a medical examination suggest that the toddler was sexually molested.
The child told welfare personnel, who were also alerted to the recent incident, that her uncle ‘fingered’ her.
Meanwhile, at Lima, Police have arrested a man, who was cohabiting with a 13-year-old girl for the past five months.
