A popular Non Pareil businessman was yesterday morning found dead in his house by relatives who tried locating him but failed to do so.
Reports are that around 09:00 hours yesterday a female who works with Leonard Lamaison, called ‘Sugar’, turned up for work but did not get any response when she called out for him. Lamaison operates a beer garden from his home.
Fearing the worst, the man’s employee then went to his cousin’s home to inform her of the situation. The dead man’s cousin Jacqueline Lewis said she then went to another relative’s home and they went to Lamaison’s home.
“Me uncle had to break in de house and he tell we that ‘Sugar’ dead. He say that ‘Sugar just deh lying on de bed and he dead.’”
The woman said that her uncle was last seen alive on Thursday night and there appeared to be no sign of forced entry to his house. She added that people were at his shop up to late Thursday evening.
“Wednesday was his birthday and he took food in the village for people. He was well so I don’t know what happen”.
The police were called in and the body was taken to the Lyken Funeral home awaiting a post mortem examination.
