Annai, St.Ignatius battle for right to meet Aishalton for Region 7 title
Annai and St.Ignatius will meet today to earn the right to challenge Aishalton in the final of the Region 7 segment of the Digicel-sponsored Nationwide Schools Football Tournament which continues at various venues across the country.The survivor of the final to be played tomorrow will then travel to the Mining Town of Linden to meet with that Region’s winner Christianburg/Wismar on Monday for a place in the overall quarter-final on a date and venue to be announced later. Meanwhile, in action in the Georgetown Zone, Government Technical Institute (GTI) progressed to the final after defeating Lodge Secondary 4-1 on Wednesday.
They now advance to meet Charlestown who were handed victory after their semi-final opponent Guyana Industrial Training Centre were withdrawn from the competition by their Principal due to indiscipline.
This final will be played tomorrow at the Carifesta Avenue Sports Complex, starting from 16:00 hrs.
