Technical Director of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Women’s Programme Mark Rodrigues has completed two stages of his talent scouting drive in search of players for the Lady Jags Under-17 and 20 teams.
The USA based Rodrigues, who has piloted the Lady Jags to their historic CONCACAF finals of the Women’s World Cup qualifying last year, has completed talent spotting in Georgetown, Lethem and Bartica. Rodrigues is accompanied by Programme Director Colin Baker and Lawrence Griffith (Administration). On Wednesday the team visited Lethem where some 30 players were assessed and selections made similarly to Georgetown.
Rodrigues said that he has been impressed with the passion displayed by the Lethem players, coupled with their aggressive nature and decent technical ability.
They Team is aiming to hold an Under-17 camp in Georgetown from July 17-25.
Players from the Ancient County of Berbice will get their chance to showcase their talent to the team today while Linden and West Demerara will be visited tomorrow.
Guyana will host a group of the Under-17 World Cup Qualifying competition in August featuring the host Anguilla and the Netherland Antilles.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
