Cyclists will be locked in battle again this weekend as their hectic 2011 season pedals on. National Coach Hassan Mohamed in association with Dr. Chase; Seven Seas and Nature Valley Products will being off a 50-mile road race on the West Demerara in observance of CARICOM Day, 2011.
Race time is 09:00hrs from the Wales Police Station, proceeding to Bushy Park on the East Bank of Essequibo, before returning to Demerara Harbour Bridge for the finish.
Veteran, upright and female competitors will turn back at the Uitvlugt Community Centre before returning to the Harbour Bridge for the finish.
The first six (6) to cross the finish line overall will be rewarded as will the first 3 juniors, veterans, upright, female along with the first veteran over-60 years. Eight prime prizes will be at stake during the course of the race.
Manager of Distribution at Pharmaceutical Health and Beauty Care Mrs. June Ann Eastman will be on hand to assist at the presentation.
